Simon Pummell has created more than a dozen animated and special FX films for television, winning numerous international awards, and film festival career retrospectives.
His most recent feature film, Bodysong, won a BAFTA (British Academy Award) and a BIFA (British Independent Film Award) among other awards. In 2005/6 he received a UK National Endowment for Science, Technology & Art Dream Time Fellowship to research cross-media approaches to moving-image storytelling. He was a 2007-09 visiting lecturer at Dept. of VES Harvard University, a Harvard Film Study Centre Fellow 2008/9, and is currently Course Director of the Lens-Based Digital Media Programme at the Piet Zwart Post-Graduate Institute of the Willem de Kooning Academy, Rotterdam.
He is in pre-production on the feature documentary Shock Head Soul, a UK/Netherlands co-production that combines feature film, installation and website.
