Judith Katzeff studied business, majoring in film production at the University West in Trollhättan, Sweden 2007-2010 after finishing a semester of studies in script writing and drama at Deakin University in Melbourne, Australia (2005).
In addition to her studies in Trollhättan, she also worked on features, documentaries, music videos and produced short films (Vi ses där uppe! 2008, Imorgon 2009) as well as co-ordinating film festivals and plays. In 2008 she had a production internship in the USA, working in commercials (dir. David Jellison) in Los Angeles. During her last semester in spring 2010, she was asked to join Zentropa Sweden as a producer’s assistant on the pre-production of Melancholia and Happy End, as well as assisting with the development of Tompta. She later followed Melancholia into production. In September 2010 she left for Illusion Film where she started out producing a 23′ short film, En Natts Forhold, last screened at the Gothenburg International Film Festival 2012 and soon to be screened at the Berlin Xposed Queer film festival and Frameline film festival in San Francisco 2012 etc. amongst other assignments.
From September 2010 to July 2011, Judith worked as an assistant producer for the Irene Huss II series, produced by Illusion Film. The series consists of 6 x 90′ high end, TV crime films for the Scandinavian and German markets. She has since worked as assistant producer on many different projects at different stages for the company. She was assistant post-production producer for both technical and marketing/ press on The Ice Dragon.
She is currently finishing a 50′ film, If I Was, as producer for Zentropa Sweden and is developing another 30′ short, Verkligheten, as producer for Illusion Film, as well as the cross-media project Hurricane as associate producer.
She will be working closely with delegate producer Peter Hiltunen on Hurricane. Katzeff will be focused on the cross-media part in particular.
