Manuel Alcalá holds a Bachelor in Arts in Cinema & Television from Boston University and attended the Media Design Program at Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, CA. The focus of his work is in the intersection of design and narrative media through the use of technology.

His professional career has centered on cultural production and promotion; he was the founder of projects such as VIDEODROMO, Mexico City’s first independent film collection, TiNKER a design and engineering lab for kids, the platform PROYECTA and was the creator of the New Media Program at CENTRO University in Mexico City.
